Herbs + remedies to decrease stress

If you're anything like me, you're always on the go and always trying to find new ways to decrease stress. I'm always looking for new and innovative ways to de-stress, whether it's through yoga, protein shakes, or even just a simple cup of tea. I've compiled a list of my favourite herbs and remedies that help me Decrease stress naturally, and I hope they can help you too!

1. Tulsi

Also known as Holy Basil, this is one of my favourite herbs for decreasing stress. Tulsi has been shown to promote detoxification, immunity, and calmness. It's also a great source of antioxidants, which can help fight free radicals and prevent cell damage. 

2. Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is an adaptogen herb that helps the body cope with physical + emotional stressors. It's also been shown to improve cognitive function + increase energy levels. 

3. Chamomile

Chamomile is a quieting herb that's frequently used in teas + tinctures to ease insomnia + nervousness. Chamomile can also be used topically to soothe irritated skin. 

4. Lavender

Lavender is one of the most popular herbs for relaxation + has a wide range of uses, from diffusing the essential oil to adding dried lavender buds to your favourite tea blend. Lavender is also frequently used topically to soothe burns + skin irritations. 

5. 75% CBD Oil

CBD oil is derived from the hemp plant + has been shown to relieve anxiety, pain, inflammation, + nausea. CBD oil can be taken orally, rubbed into the skin, or even inhaled via a vape pen. 

6. Exercise

Exercise is one of the best ways to de-stress naturally because it releases endorphins, which have mood-boosting + pain-relieving properties. Not to mention, consistent exercise has a plethora of other health benefits like improved sleep quality, increased energy levels, + decreased risk of chronic diseases. 

7. Nutrition

Eating nutrient-dense foods helps nourish your body + reduce inflammation, while also giving you sustained energy throughout the day. Foods like dark leafy greens, fatty fish, berries, nuts & seeds are all great sources of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants,+ omega-3 fatty acids—all of which support a healthy mind + body.

8 Meditation

Meditation is a great way to focus your attention + become more aware of your thoughts + emotions. Research shows that meditation can decrease stress, Improve sleep quality,+ promote brain health. there are many different types of meditation, so find what works best for you! whether it's a guided meditation, mantra meditation, or even walking meditation. Just 10-15 minutes a day can make a world of difference. 

9 Get enough sleep

Sleep plays a vital role in overall health + well-being, yet most people don't get enough. Shoot for 7-9 hours per night and create a bedtime routine that includes winding down for 30 minutes before sleep. This will help train your body to know when it's time to go to bed and make it easier to fall asleep. Avoid screens right before bed and try reading or journaling instead. 

 

Sleep plays a vital role in overall health + well-being, yet most people don't get enough.
