The Best Time of Day to Go for a Run (for people who work 9-5 jobs)
by Callum Allan on Nov 02, 2022
A lot of people ask me when the best time of day to go for a run is, and it really depends on your schedule. I usually recommend going in the morning because it's the best way to start your day and get some energy flowing, but sometimes that's just not possible. If you can't go in the morning, the next best time would be during your lunch break or after work. Let's break down the pros and cons of each option.
Pros and Cons of Going for a Run in the Morning:
If you have the time, going for a run in the morning is the best option. You'll have more energy throughout the day, you'll be more productive at work, and you'll feel better overall. That being said, I know that not everyone can make time for a morning run. If that's the case, don't force it. Just try to do one of the other options below.
Pros and Cons of Going for a Run During Your Lunch Break:
Going for a run during your lunch break has a lot of benefits. You'll be able to clear your head and relax in the middle of a stressful day, and you'll be able to come back to work feeling refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the afternoon. That being said, if you don't have time for a shower before your next meeting, you might want to opt for one of the other options below.
Pros and Cons of Going for a Run After Work:
Going for a run after work is a great way to unwind after a long day. You'll have time to de-stress and forget about work for a while, and you'll sleep better later on that night. That being said, if you're someone who likes to have their evenings free, this might not be the best option for you.
Overall, there are pros and cons to each option. It really depends on your schedule and what works best for you. If you have time in the morning, go for a run then. If not, try going during your lunch break or after work instead. Just make sure that you're getting some exercise every day!
