6 Ways to Get More Exercise When You’re Short on Time in the Gym

There are a million excuses we tell ourselves when we don’t feel like going to the gym. I’m too tired. I don’t have enough time. I don’t know what to do when I’m there. But at the end of the day, we all know that working out is good for us – it lowers stress levels, improves our mood, and helps us maintain a healthy weight. So how can we overcome these excuses and make the most of our time at the gym? Here are 6 creative ways to get more exercise when you’re short on time:

1. Take a class: If you’re unsure of what to do at the gym, sign up for a class! This way, you don’t have to worry about putting together a workout routine, and you can just follow along with the instructor. Plus, classes are a great way to meet new people who share your interests.

2. Interval training: If you’re short on time, interval training is a great way to maximize your workout. Alternate between periods of high-intensity activity and lower-intensity activity, such as sprinting and walking or lifting weights and taking a break. Not only will this help you get your heart rate up, but it will also help you burn more calories in less time.

3. Use supersets: A superset is two exercises done back-to-back with no rest in between. This is a great way to save time by combining exercises that work for different muscle groups. For example, you could pair a chest press with a row or a bicep curl with a tricep extension.

4. Workout with a friend: Having someone to work out with not only makes the time go by faster, but it also motivated you to push yourself harder than you would if you were working out alone. In addition, it’s always more fun to exercise with someone else – especially if you can make it into a friendly competition!

5. Set a timer: If you find yourself procrastinating or taking too many breaks during your workout, set a timer for yourself and commit to working out for that amount of time no matter what. Once the timer goes off, you can take a break if you want – but chances are, you’ll want to keep going!

6 . Make it fun: Choose activities that you enjoy doing so that working out doesn’t feel like such a chore. If possible, find an activity that combines exercise with something else that you love – such as dancing, playing tennis, or hiking outdoors. By choosing activities that make you happy, working out will feel more like play than work!
